#TooMuchDoubt Death Penalty Panel Discussion & Screening
March 4 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
|Please join us this Sunday, March 4 for a panel discussion entitled:
William T. Montgomery: #TooMuchDoubt?
Ohio’s death penalty system is so flawed that in 2011, the Republican, pro-death penalty chief justice of the Ohio Supreme Court appointed a task force to recommend ways to fix it. The experts finished their work in 2014 with 56 recommendations for ways to make the system more fair and accurate. Most of those recommendations have not been enacted, yet executions continue. There are currently over 25 executions scheduled from now until 2022.
The next person to be exexuted is William T. Montgomery, who has been on Ohio’s death row for more than 31 years for the murders of Debra Ogle and Cynthia Tincher. Evidence found years after the trial calls into questions about Montgomery’s innocence. This discussion will cover the broader issue and will also explore the numerous concerns raising #TooMuchDoubt in Montgomery’s case.
